Completing The Black British Book Festival’s Writing Programme— A New Generation Speaks

I was recently selected to take part in the ‘Fi Wi Time: A New Generation Speaks’ programme, organised by the Black British Book Festival. This six-week writing initiative brought together young Black nonfiction writers from Jamaica and the UK. The aim was to foster creativity and growth through workshops, mentoring, and cross-cultural exchanges.
Being chosen for this programme was an honour. I found the process both challenging and rewarding. The workshops, led by experienced mentors, focused on refining our writing skills. Through these sessions, I learned to sharpen my approach and develop my own voice.
