Llyrio Boateng is honored to have participated in the ‘Fi Wi Time: A New Generation Speaks’ programme, hosted by the Black British Book Festival.

This six-week initiative was a transformative experience for Boateng, bridging the gap between young Black nonfiction writers in the UK and Jamaica. Highlights of the residency included:

  • Craft Development: Intensive workshops focused on sharpening narrative voice and structural precision.

  • Mentorship: Direct engagement with industry leaders to refine professional writing standards.

  • Global Connection: Engaging in cross-cultural exchanges that offered Llyrio new, global perspectives on storytelling.

For Boateng, this programme served as a catalyst for growth, providing the tools and community necessary to push the boundaries of nonfiction writing.
