Llyrio Boateng is a writer, director, actor, model and former professional dancer. He trained at the Young Vic and participated in its ‘Springboard’ and ‘Fresh Direction’ programmes for Directors.

As a writer, Llyrio has been part of the Southwark Playhouse ‘Black Writers’ Collective’, Theatre Peckham’s ‘Rye-ting Group’, and the 2025 British Black Book Festival writers’ programme (A New Generation Speaks). He directed Church Girl at Theatre503, Jon & Dave at Southwark Playhouse and the radio drama My Mother Must’ve Heard It, Too on Spotify & Apple Music. In 2021, he joined the BAFTA Crew Cohort.

Llyrio’s dance career included performances with global artists like Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Rihanna and Ariana Grande, appearing in music videos, global stages, award shows and more. He appeared alongside Elizabeth Hurley in the thriller Strictly Confidential in May 2024. He is currently writing a post-WWII drama about a lesser-known chapter of German history.
