Writer and director Llyrio Boateng has been longlisted for the Alfred Fagon Award for Best New Play of the Year 2025 for his play A False Friend.

The Alfred Fagon Award celebrates exceptional new work by Black British playwrights, recognising plays that demonstrate originality, depth, and power.

To be named among this year’s longlisted writers is a quiet honour and a moment of reflection on the ongoing journey of making work for the stage.
